The Social Studies Department at Central Catholic aims to promote awareness of our government and competence in civic matters. Through courses such as American History and U.S. Government, the department provides a concrete study of the American government. Through World Studies the impact of the democratic and industrial revolutions, world domination by European powers, and ideas that led to independence are explored. The department and its courses provide a well-rounded view of both the United States and the world as a whole, and how government and history have impacted the world in which we now live.
