Overview

The Dance Program at Central Catholic High School consists of two semesters of Movement and Study as a part of a well-rounded education in performance art. Students are introduced to codified techniques exploring a rich history in dance culture, the principles of balance, and various methods of expression, musicality, and development that create a unique experience for each individual and for each class.


Dance I

An introduction to studio practice of ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and musical theatre dance; includes survey of the history, theory, and vocabulary of ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and musical theatre dance.

Dance II

An intermediate level studio practice of ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and musical theatre dance; includes a continuation of the survey of the history, theory, and vocabulary of ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop and musical theatre dance.
