- When did you start teaching at CCHS?
I began substituting in October 2024, and I took on a long term position in March 2025. This is my first full year as an official teacher here at CCHS.
- What subjects and grade levels do you teach?
I teach Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 to all grades, freshmen through seniors. I also became the JV girls’ basketball coach in July and have been an assistant girls’ lacrosse coach since February.
- What is your educational background?
I have a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology with a minor in Spanish language and culture from Albion College in 2023. I also earned a master's degree in political science in migration studies from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain in 2024.
- What were you involved in as a student at Central Catholic?
I played basketball and lacrosse, and I was a member of the National Honor Society.
- What did you do before joining the CCHS staffulty?
I have spent my time immersed in academia and athletics. From 2019 to 2023, I played lacrosse and basketball at the collegiate level for Albion. Postgraduate, I spent time researching migrant communities in Barcelona, Spain and writing my thesis on the intersection of sports, migrant integration, and intercultural dialogue.
- What inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired by coaching. I've found an inclination toward teaching players the game in a way that is suitable for high schoolers. My interest in academia enabled me to try something new in a similar style, but this time in the classroom. I enjoy learning and hope to share that same spark with my students.
- What made you want to teach at Central Catholic specifically?
I live and breathe CCHS. I've not only experienced Central Catholic's academically rigorous education, but I’ve had the opportunity to wear Fighting Irish across my chest. I am looking to instill in the students the culture and traditions CCHS has to offer.
- What do you hope your impact will be on your students?
I hope to remind them that learning is fun, and knowledge is power. My end goal is to make them better people.
- What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
My favorite hobby is playing video games. I also like playing recreational basketball.
