Financial Aid Frequently Asked Questions
Are scholarships and financial aid available?
Yes, there are scholarships and financial aid available to help reduce the tuition amount due. We are fortunate to have generous donors that allow us to provide certain academic and financially based scholarships. The scholarship application period begins in November and the deadline for priority consideration is in February. Please click here for additional information on scholarships.
If you would like to apply for financial assistance, including scholarships and financial aid, you must complete a FACTS Financial Aid Application. This is a FREE on-line application. This application is available now. The deadline to receive priority consideration for financial aid is February 28, 2025. Funds may be limited after this date. Applications will continue to be accepted throughout the enrollment period. Please click here for additional information on financial aid.
What happens after I fill out the FACTS Application form?
It is a common misconception that FACTS awards financial aid. Unfortunately, they do not. Instead, they calculate the family’s estimated need and the school works to provide a financial aid package that will be realistic for the family. Please know that our funds are limited since the school’s funding for financial aid comes from the operational budget of the school and also designated donor support. We work very hard to allocate the limited funds available to us in a fair and equitable manner.
Once all the required supporting documentation has been received and the calculation of need has been performed by FACTS, the school will evaluate the estimate from FACTS and provide a financial aid package. The notifications of financial aid for new and returning students will be mailed by the end of March. For those families who apply after February 28, 2025 deadline, please contact the Financial Services Office at (419) 255-2280 for the next steps.
What if my family needs more aid after the initial award?
Central Catholic High School wishes to be able to provide an education to as many students as possible who truly desire to be at the school. While the school offers an extensive financial aid package, there are many times those regular financial aid and payment arrangements do not meet the needs of some families. Families who would like to appeal their financial aid determination may submit a tuition appeal. Please reach out to financialservices@centralcatholic.org for information on this process.
The family must have already completed the FACTS financial aid application and received an invoice for the upcoming school year before submitting an appeal. In order for an appeal to be reviewed, we may ask you to provide supporting documentation, and we may also need to meet with you. We will contact you if that is the case.
Do I need to reapply for financial assistance each year?
YES! Since a family’s situation can change from year to year, scholarships and financial aid are not automatically renewed. In order to receive any financial assistance, including scholarships and financial aid, the family must complete the FACTS Financial Aid Application.
Are there other ways to make the tuition and fees more affordable?
Yes, many parishes award scholarships to qualified applicants. Please contact your parish directly for more information.
What payment plan options are available to me?
Families can divide their tuition balance into monthly payments using a FACTS payment plan. This program automatically withdraws your monthly payment from a checking or savings account. Credit cards are also accepted but there is an additional fee charged by FACTS to use a credit card.
If you have additional questions, please call the Financial Services Office at (419) 255-2280.
