12 Fighting Irish Earn All-Northwest District Division III Laurels

Twelve members of the Central Catholic football program have earned spots on the All-Northwest District Division III Team, as selected by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association media panel.

CCHS landed four first-team honorees — senior TE Preston Fryzel and senior DB Victor Singleton, Jr., who were named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. Singleton secured DPOY honors for the second consecutive season.  Joining them on the first team were senior DL Zanaje Liggons and junior RB Jeremiah Fuller.

The Fighting Irish also placed four players on the second team — senior OL Tyler Britsch, senior OL Kevon Harrison, junior DL Chris Sanders, Jr., and junior DB Keyon Robinson — while four others collected honorable mention recognition: senior OL Braylen Whitney, junior QB Ali Beydoun, senior LB Gavin Eckhart, and senior ATH Jerome Davis V.  Fryzel, Liggons, and Eckhart each garnered all-district accolades for the second straight year.

No. 6 seed Central Catholic (9–4) returns to action this evening for the Region 10 Final of the OHSAA Division III State Playoffs, taking on No. 5 seed Rocky River (11–2). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Robert J. Bishop, Jr. Stadium on the campus of Clyde High School.
