Central Catholic Named “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio for 3rd-Straight Year

Central Catholic High School has been named “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio in the Toledo City Paper’s Best of Toledo 2022.  This is the 3rd-straight time Central Catholic is receiving this prestigious honor.  Readers of the Toledo City Paper vote for their favorites in categories that include shops, services, professionals, health and wellness, food, art, media, music, and community.  This is the 25th anniversary of the contest, and the newspaper had hundreds of thousands of votes across 250 categories for 2022.

Central Catholic is honored to have been chosen by the community for this distinction after being voted the “Best Private School” in Northwest Ohio for 2020 and 2021.  The school was also named “Best Private High School” in the 2020 inaugural Blade Readers' Choice Awards.

“To be named the best private school in the area for the 3rd year in a row is a humbling honor and a reflection of the inspiring work of our teachers, students, families, and staff day in and day out,” said Central Catholic Principal Morgan Delp.  “Thank you to those who continue to support the good work we do at CCHS, as we continue to offer opportunities for faith, growth, and success to the best students in the area.”

“The people at Central Catholic are what make it the best private school,” said Carolyn Anderson, AP Literature, Speech, and Debate teacher.  “Our students, employees, and alumni all make CCHS the best place to be.”

Junior Mark Mackowiak said, “To me, the thing that makes Central Catholic the best private school is the family atmosphere.  The Irish family is a real thing, and you really do feel like you are part of a family every time you walk through those doors.  I feel loved by all my teachers and classmates, and they make me want to come to school.  The bond everyone shares in this building is something you can only dream about and luckily for me, I get to experience it every day!

“I believe this honor shows that Central Catholic is truly a special place.  The fact that we have won this honor now 3 years in a row truly demonstrates that not only do we believe it's the best private school around, but those in the Toledo area do as well.  The fact that the student body is significantly increasing every year also speaks volumes to the passion the Irish family displays every day.  The passion is contagious, and the people of Toledo are starting to recognize it.”
