Draden Wardrop Inks Athletic Aid Agreement with Oakland University

Central Catholic senior Draden Wardrop has officially signed an Athletic Aid Agreement to continue his education and baseball career at Oakland University, a member of the Horizon League. Wardrop celebrated this special moment on campus Monday alongside family, friends, teammates, and coaches during the Fall Signing Period — a powerful testament to hard work, commitment, and God-given talent.

On the diamond, Wardrop delivered a standout junior season, hitting a team-best .362 with 25 runs, 5 RBI, and a program-leading 26 stolen bases, earning CHSL All-League recognition.  He also excels on the hardwood, where he contributes significantly as a member of the Fighting Irish boys’ basketball team.

Wardrop is equally impressive in the classroom, achieving Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude honors every quarter throughout high school — a true example of what it means to be Central to Academics, Central to Leadership, and Central to Life.

Earlier this month, classmate Manny Johnson also signed an AAA with Eastern Michigan University, marking another proud moment for Irish Athletics.
