Football Steamrolls Lexington in 2nd Round of OHSAA Division III State Playoffs, 49-18

The Central Catholic football team steamrolled Lexington, 49-18, in the 2nd round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III State Playoffs in Minutemen Stadium. With the dominating road victory, the No. 6 seed Fighting Irish improve to 8-4 on the season.

CCHS posted a balanced attack vs. the No. 3 seed Minutemen (9-2), finishing with 198 yards passing and 166 yards rushing.

Junior RB Jeremiah Fuller spearheaded the offense with a season-high 4 TDs to help the Scarlet & Gray defeat Lexington for the 2nd-straight year in the postseason. Fuller found the end zone in each of the opening 3 quarters to force a running clock in the 2nd half.

After spotting Lexington a field goal on its opening drive, the Fighting Irish rattled off 5 1st-half scores to take control of the matchup, including 3 TDs from Fuller.  The 2025 CHSL All-Catholic honoree was credited with scoring runs covering 1, 30, 6, and 50 yards.

Junior QB Ali Beydoun also completed 5-of-12 passes for a season-high 191 yards, including a 51-yard TD strike to senior Victor Singleton, Jr.

With the victory, CCHS will face No. 2 seed Wapakoneta (11-0) on Friday, November 14 in the Region 10 Semifinals at 7 p.m. The Redskins defeated No. 7 seed Lima Shawnee, 41-16, at home.
