Scarlet & Gray Six Earn All-Northwest District Honors

Six members of the Central Catholic boys’ basketball team have earned Division III All-Northwest District recognition, as selected by a panel of media members from the Ohio Prep Sports Media Association.

Senior Manny Johnson highlighted the Fighting Irish honorees, being named Division III All-Northwest District Co-Player of the Year while also earning First Team recognition.  Junior Cayden Kynard was selected to the Second Team, senior Kaeden Carruthers was named Third Team, and senior Draden Wardrop along with junior Jordan Langford received Honorable Mention accolades.

In addition, Head Coach Mike Floyd was selected Division III All-Northwest District Coach of the Year.

Johnson and Wardrop are collecting All-Northwest District honors for the third consecutive season, while Carruthers is earning postseason recognition for the second straight year — a testament to the group’s consistency and leadership.

This talented core recently helped Central Catholic capture its third consecutive district championship and fifth in the last six seasons.  The Fighting Irish will return to the hardwood Saturday against Mansfield Senior in the regional final at 2 p.m. in Savage Arena on the campus of the University of Toledo.
