Wardrop Earns Division III Second Team All-Ohio Honors
Central Catholic senior shortstop Draden Wardrop has been named Division III Second Team All-Ohio by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association (OHSBCA), recognizing his outstanding performance during the 2026 season.
A catalyst at the top of the Fighting Irish lineup, Wardrop led Central Catholic in several offensive categories. He batted a team-best .434, collecting 33 hits in 76 at-bats while scoring 20 runs. He also recorded seven doubles, two triples, and a team-high 22 stolen bases, finishing the season with a .488 on-base percentage and a .618 slugging percentage.
Wardrop's All-Ohio recognition comes on the heels of another impressive campaign in which he also earned All-Catholic honors from the Catholic High School League for the second consecutive season.
With the selection, Wardrop becomes the fifth Central Catholic baseball player to earn All-Ohio honors over the past seven seasons. Preston Fryzel was named Second Team All-Ohio in 2025, Jaxon Sanchez received honorable mention recognition in 2023, Wilson Stopera earned Second Team honors in 2021, and Jase Bowen was selected First Team All-Ohio in 2019.
Wardrop's selection continues a strong tradition of excellence for the Fighting Irish baseball program and highlights another successful season for Central Catholic on the diamond.
