Wrestling Competes at Bill Urban Memorial Tournament

The Central Catholic wrestling team competed at the Bill Urban Memorial Tournament on Saturday at St. John’s Jesuit High School.

Highlighting the efforts for the Fighting Irish was a first-place finish by junior Tyler Jackson at 285 pounds. In addition, senior James Foster placed second at 190 pounds at the one-day event, while senior Jayden Bankston (175 pounds) and senior Chris Jackson (215 pounds) tallied third-place finishes.

Also on Saturday, CCHS had a handful of wrestlers participate at the War at Whitmer. Senior Rayshaun Brown captured first place at 285 pounds and junior Andrew Carter-Price was third at 175 pounds.

Central Catholic will return to the mat for the Defiance Tri-State Border War Invitational on Tuesday-Wednesday, Dec. 28-29.
