- What is your role at Central Catholic?
I’m a college and career advisor.  I assist students with career programming activities that include providing opportunities to explore careers they’re interested in, connecting them to professionals in various industries, and teaching them the skills they need to succeed in the world of work.  I also coordinate college and career events and help students with ACT prep.

- What is your educational background?
I attended Concordia University in Nebraska and earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in history and theology.  I recently completed my facilitating career development training and am preparing for assessment to become a certified career services provider.

- What did you do before joining the CCHS staffulty?
My experiences include working in camp ministry, libraries, and at a firewood processing company called Splittin’ Me Timbers.  My most recent role was coordinating apprenticeships and career services at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, Michigan.  This solidified my calling to help students reach their potential and provide them with support and resources as they navigate their career journey.

- What made you want to work at Central Catholic?
I love the community and missional focus of Central Catholic, and I’m grateful that we keep Christ at the center of everything we do.  It’s evident how much the staffulty cares and supports each other and the students, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the mission and being part of this community.

- What do you hope your impact will be on our students?
The world of work is constantly changing.  Amid all the uncertainty and unknowns, sometimes it’s hard to know where to start when it comes to exploring, changing, and ultimately settling on a career path.  My hope is to educate, support, and empower students as they consider and live out God’s calling for their lives at Central Catholic and beyond.

- What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I really enjoy reading, singing, playing basketball, and cheering on Detroit sports teams.  I have 4 brothers, 3 nephews (with a 4th on the way!), and 2 dogs - a Siberian husky and a golden retriever.
