6 Fighting Irish Volleyball Players Earn All-District Accolades

Six members of the Central Catholic girls’ volleyball team have been recognized for their exceptional efforts on and off the court with Division III All-District postseason accolades.

Senior Audrina Randall was named to the All-District 7 Second Team, while seniors Madison Schmakel and Toryn Brookens earned Honorable Mention recognition.

A setter, Randall totaled 444 assists, 40 aces, 25 kills, and 11 blocks during the fall.

As libero, Schmakel registered 337 digs, 29 aces, and 13 kills.

An outside hitter, Brookens tallied 200 digs, 165 kills, 19 aces, and 6 blocks.

In addition, seniors Reagan Bluhm, Makenzie Coleman, Kyndal Moran, Brookens, Randall, and Schmakel were all recognized with All-District Academic honors for their achievements in the classroom.

The Scarlet & Gray capped a successful season by advancing to the Division III District Semifinals under the leadership of second-year head coach Troy Zabawa.
