Boys’ Basketball Pulls Away at Liberty Center to Extend Winning Streak, 58–43
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team continued its strong run on Thursday night, earning a 58–43 road victory over Liberty Center in the LCHS Varsity Gym. With the win, the Fighting Irish extend their winning streak to five games and improve to 5–1 on the season.
Central Catholic set the tone early, building a 25–18 halftime lead against the host Tigers (4–2). The Fighting Irish maintained control after the break, outscoring Liberty Center in the second half to secure the 15-point non-conference victory.
Senior G Manny Johnson led the Scarlet & Gray with 19 points, while junior G Cayden Kynard added 16. Senior F Kaeden Carruthers contributed 11 points, and junior G Jordan Langford chipped in eight, providing balanced scoring throughout the lineup.
Liberty Center was paced by Jack Badenhop, who finished with 18 points and was the Tigers’ lone double-figure scorer.
Earlier in the day, Central Catholic’s freshman squad posted a 52–29 win and the junior varsity team earned a 46–32 victory.
CCHS returns to action on Friday, January 9, when the Fighting Irish host St. Mary’s Preparatory School in a key Catholic High School League matchup. The junior varsity game tips off at 5:30 p.m. in the Dombrowski Fieldhouse, followed immediately by the varsity contest.
