Boys’ Basketball Secures 54–50 Road Win at Margaretta
The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team continued its strong run on Saturday, earning a 54–50 road victory over Margaretta in the Iceberg. With the hard-fought win, the Fighting Irish extend their winning streak to eight consecutive games and improve to 13–2 on the season.
Senior forward Kaeden Carruthers led the way for CCHS, posting a dominant double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds. Junior guard Cayden Kynard followed with 12 points, while senior guard Manny Johnson added 11 points to give the Irish three players in double figures.
The Scarlet & Gray also received a key contribution from senior guard Draden Wardrop, who finished with seven points to help Central Catholic close out the four-point road victory.
Margaretta (13-3) was paced by Julian Washington, who scored a game-high 26 points for the host Polar Bears.
Central Catholic returns to action on Tuesday, February 3, when the Fighting Irish host Clay in a non-league matchup on Cherry Street. The evening begins with the freshman game at 4:30 p.m., followed immediately by the junior varsity and varsity contests. Tickets are available by clicking HERE.
