Boys’ Basketball Steamrolls De La Salle Collegiate on Senior Night, 67-21

The Central Catholic boys’ basketball team delivered a dominant performance on Senior Night, cruising to a 67–21 victory over De La Salle Collegiate on Friday evening in the Sullivan Center. With the lopsided Catholic High School League win, the Fighting Irish improve to 12–2 overall and 6–1 in league play, extending their winning streak to seven straight games.

Central Catholic set the tone early, combining balanced offensive production with relentless defensive pressure to seize control of the contest. Ten different Fighting Irish players scored, underscoring the team’s depth and unselfish play.

Leading the way offensively were senior guard Draden Wardrop, junior guard Jordan Langford, and junior guard Jason Lawson Jr., who each finished with 11 points.  Senior guard Manny Johnson added nine points, while senior forward Kingston Sito chipped in seven in the victory.

On the defensive end, the Scarlet & Gray limited De La Salle Collegiate to seven points or fewer in three of the four quarters, never allowing the Pilots to find a rhythm.  Brice Hutchinson paced the visitors with six points.

Earlier in the evening, Central Catholic completed a sweep on Cherry Street, as the freshman team earned a 47–27 win and the junior varsity squad followed with a 47–40 victory.

The Fighting Irish return to action this evening (Saturday, January 31), when they travel to Margaretta for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference matchup. The varsity game will air LIVE on 100.7 FM (The Ticket) beginning at 7:15 p.m.
