Central Catholic Invites Prospective Families to Open House on November 15

TOLEDO, OH — Central Catholic High School will open its doors to prospective students and families for its annual Open House on Sunday, November 15, from noon to 3 p.m., providing families the opportunity to experience firsthand what makes Central Catholic such a special place on Cherry Street.

Open House offers prospective students and their families an inside look at the Central Catholic experience. Guests will have the opportunity to tour campus and classrooms; meet students, Staffulty, coaches, and administrators; explore academic, faith, athletic, arts, and extracurricular programs; enjoy vocal, musical, and dance performances; and learn more about scholarships and financial aid opportunities.

Unlike student-focused visits such as Discovery Days and Irish for a Day, Open House is designed for the entire family. Guests are encouraged to explore campus at their own pace, ask questions, discover the many opportunities available to students, and meet the people who will support their child throughout their high school journey.

“Come visit Central Catholic at our Open House!” said Brittley (Grodi) Dauer ’07, Director of Enrollment. “Tour our school, meet our teachers, explore exciting classes and activities, connect with our coaches, and discover all that Central Catholic has to offer. It’s the perfect opportunity to ask questions, meet our community, and get a firsthand look at what makes the Central Catholic experience so special. We can’t wait to welcome you!”

From academics and faith to athletics, arts, service, clubs, and student life, Open House provides families with an opportunity to see the breadth of the Central Catholic experience and discover where their student can find a place to belong.

“At Open House, families have the opportunity to experience the breadth of what CCHS has to offer, from choir, piano, band, and orchestra, to athletics, clubs, service, and countless other opportunities for involvement,” said Rebecca (Barrow) Buckman ’04, Director of Vocal Music. “Students are encouraged to pursue their individual interests while becoming part of a larger community. Open House allows prospective students and their families to experience that sense of purpose, community, and opportunity in person and envision the many ways a CCHS education can help them grow and succeed.”

Faith is also at the heart of the Central Catholic experience and an important part of what families will encounter during Open House.

“The world is so wrapped up in one giant misconception of who God is and who Central Catholic is,” said Fr. Kevin Moebius ’99, CCHS Priest Leader. “But those of us who have walked these halls, and those of us who still walk them, know differently. Now it’s your turn. Come to our Open House, where God and Central Catholic exist together. I guarantee you ... you won’t leave here the same.”

Families planning to attend are encouraged to register in advance at CentralCatholic.org/Admissions and click on the OPEN HOUSE button. Advance registration will help Central Catholic prepare to welcome prospective students and their families to campus.

Experience Central Catholic Before Open House

Seventh- and eighth-grade students who would like an additional opportunity to experience Central Catholic are invited to participate in the Irish for a Day shadowing program, offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout the school year.

Irish for a Day gives prospective students the opportunity to experience a typical school day alongside current Fighting Irish students, interact with teachers, explore the historic Cherry Street campus, and get a firsthand look at what it means to be part of the Central Catholic family.

Students can register for Irish for a Day by visiting CentralCatholic.org/Admissions and clicking on the IRISH FOR A DAY graphic.
