Football Tangles with Wapakoneta in Region 10 Semifinal of OHSAA Division III State Playoffs
The Central Catholic football team will square off against Wapakoneta on Friday, November 14 in the regional semifinal of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III State Playoffs. The opening kick against the Redskins is slated for 7 p.m. at Mercy Health/Wapak Ford Field at Harmon Stadium (400 W Harrison St, Wapakoneta, 45895).
The Fighting Irish (8-4) are the No. 6 seed in Region 10, while Wapakoneta (11-0) is the No. 2 seed.
Tickets for Friday’s postseason contest MUST be pre-purchased online at OHSAA.org/tickets (Division III, Locate Game, Click Get Tickets). Tickets will cost $5 for students and $12 for adults. Please note, students MUST purchase a ticket to attend Friday’s matchup.

The Scarlet & Gray, which ranked No. 3 in the final MaxPreps D-III State Poll, advanced to the 3rd round following an impressive 49-18 victory at Lexington in Minutemen Stadium. CCHS posted a balanced attack vs. the No. 3 seed Minutemen (9-2), finishing with 198 yards passing and 166 yards rushing.
Junior RB Jeremiah Fuller paced the offense with a season-high 4 TDs to help CCHS defeat Lexington for the 2nd-straight year in the postseason. A 2025 CHSL All-Catholic honoree, Fuller found the end zone in each of the opening 3 quarters to force a running clock for a 2nd-consecutive week.
He was credited with scoring runs covering 1, 30, 6, and 50 yards. Fuller registered 138 yards on the ground on 12 carries, topping the century mark for the 5th time in the last 7 games.
Junior QB Ali Beydoun also completed 5-of-12 passes for a season-high 191 yards, including a 51-yard TD strike to senior WR/DB Victor Singleton, Jr.
Overall this fall, Beydoun has connected on 105-of-180 passes (58.3 percent) for 1,565 yards and 14 TDs, Fuller has carried the ball 167 times for 1,215 yards with 17 scores, and senior WR Preston Fryzel has 25 receptions for 688 yards and 7 TDs.
CCHS will face a Wapakoneta team under the direction of Head Coach Travis Moyer. A member of the Western Buckeye League (WBL), the Redskins advanced to the regional semifinal following a 41-16 home win vs. No. 7 seed Lima Shawnee.
Central Catholic and Wapakoneta will meet on the gridiron for the 1st time.
Should the Fighting Irish advance to the Region 10 Finals, they would face either No. 1 seed Medina Buckeye (11-0) or No. 5 seed Rocky River (10-2) on Friday, November 21 at 7 p.m. at a neutral site.
