Manny Johnson Signs Athletic Aid Agreement with MAC Member Eastern Michigan 

Central Catholic senior Manny Johnson has officially signed an Athletic Aid Agreement to continue his education and basketball career at Eastern Michigan University, a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).  The signing took place Wednesday on campus in front of family, friends, teammates, and coaches as part of the Fall Signing Period.

A 6-foot-3 senior guard, Johnson posted impressive numbers during the 2024–25 season, averaging 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.  He shot 51.9 percent (93-of-179) from the field and 65.5 percent (36-of-55) from the free-throw line.

Johnson scored in double figures 12 times, including three 21-point performances, and was instrumental in helping the Scarlet & Gray capture its fourth district championship in five years and advance to the regional semifinals.

The CHSL All-Catholic honoree has earned numerous postseason accolades throughout his high school career, including Division III honorable mention All-Ohio and 1st-team All-District 7 recognition in 2024–25.

Johnson and the Fighting Irish will tip off the 2025–26 season on Friday, December 12 against Detroit Catholic Central before hosting Brother Rice for their home opener on Friday, December 19 at 7 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.
