Girls’ Basketball Outlasts Oak Harbor in Four-Overtime Thriller, 55–52

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team continued its strong stretch on Saturday, earning a dramatic 55–52 victory over Oak Harbor in four overtimes in the Sullivan Center.  With the non-conference win, the Fighting Irish improve to 6-5 on the season and secure their third consecutive victory.

Senior G Nina Stevens led the Irish with a season-high 22 points, surpassing her previous best by one. Stevens did much of her damage from beyond the arc, knocking down four three-pointers in the marathon contest.

Senior G Serinity Bolden added 12 points, while senior G Marissa Justen contributed nine, providing key scoring support throughout the game.

Oak Harbor was paced by Brooke Tabbert and Kendall Gaines, who finished with 14 points apiece for the Rockets.

Earlier in the day, the Central Catholic junior varsity squad earned a 27–18 home victory over Oak Harbor.

CCHS returns to action on Wednesday, January 7, when the Fighting Irish host Lumen Christi Catholic in the Sullivan Center.
