Manny Johnson Named Division III Player of the Year by OHSBCA

Central Catholic senior Manny Johnson has been selected as the Division III Player of the Year by the Ohio High School Boys Coaches Association (OHSBCA), recognizing his outstanding performance during the 2025-26 season.

Johnson is averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.8 steals, while shooting 49.7 percent (149-of-300) from the field and 65.5 percent (55-of-84) from the free-throw line in 26.8 minutes per contest. A three-year letterwinner, he leads the Fighting Irish in assists and steals and ranks second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots.

He has reached double figures in scoring 20 times this season, including four games of 20 or more points. Johnson recorded a season-high 25 points against archrival St. John’s Jesuit on December 23.

Johnson and the Fighting Irish (23-3) will continue their pursuit of the program’s first state championship when they face Trotwood-Madison (22-4) in the OHSAA Division III State Semifinals on Thursday, March 19 at UD Arena on the campus of the University of Dayton. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., with live radio coverage on 100.7 FM The Ticket beginning at 5:45 p.m. The game will also be streamed live on OHSAA.tv and the Spectrum News App.
