MacDonald Collects Second-Team All-Ohio Tennis Accolades
Junior Sebastian MacDonald has been named Second-Team All-Ohio following an outstanding 2026 boys' tennis season that concluded with a trip to the OHSAA Division II State Tournament.
MacDonald capped off his memorable campaign by advancing to the second round of the Division II State Tournament at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. He opened tournament play with an impressive straight-set victory over Cincinnati Seven Hills' Adi Nayak before seeing his season come to an end in the quarterfinal round against one of the state's top competitors.
The state tournament appearance came after MacDonald captured the Division II Northwest District Championship, becoming the first Central Catholic boys' tennis player to win an individual district title since Dugan Delp accomplished the feat in 2014. His district championship secured a berth in the state tournament and marked one of the program's most significant accomplishments in more than a decade.
Throughout the season, MacDonald consistently demonstrated the skill, determination, and composure that made him one of the top players in Ohio. His All-Ohio recognition places him among the state's elite and caps one of the finest individual seasons in recent Central Catholic boys' tennis history.
With one season still remaining in his Fighting Irish career, MacDonald will enter his senior campaign looking to build upon an already impressive résumé while helping lead Central Catholic to continued success on the court.
Congrats to Sebastian on an outstanding season and on representing Central Catholic with excellence, sportsmanship, and class.
