Jackson Stricker Chosen Student of the Month for December

Jackson Stricker is a member of the National Honor Society and the Insignis Society, which is made up of the students that are ranked in the Top 10, 11, and 12 of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes, respectively.  He plays tennis, is in the Glee Club, and is on the staff of The Centric school newspaper.  A senior, Jackson is also involved in campus ministry and is a retreat leader for freshmen and seniors, and he helps with the morning school announcements.

Outside of school, Jackson attends St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, plays CYO basketball for St. Pat’s, referees several CYO sports, and works at Monette’s Market.

Jackson’s parents are both Central Catholic graduates, and his grandfather is Bill Clark, known as “The Voice of the Irish” because he broadcasts Fighting Irish football and basketball games on the radio.  Jackson has twin sisters, Madison and Reese, who are freshmen at Central Catholic.  He also has a brother in 5th grade as well as step-parents and 3 step-siblings.

“I chose Central Catholic not only because many of my family members attended school here, but because of the atmosphere built around the students, faculty, and school events," Jackson said.  “CCHS sets a high standard of inclusivity, support, and family unlike no other, which made it a clear choice for me.  Central Catholic is a special place, and being able to attend high school here is a privilege I will always treasure, including the relationships I have built with everyone around me.”

“Jackson steps up and takes action when asked,” said CCHS math teacher Julie Saba.  “I had him in class last year, and he has also been in my mentor group for 4 years.  He leads by example.  He will participate and do what is asked without any questions.  He excels in school and is very involved as well.”

After graduating, Jackson plans to attend the University of Toledo to study film/video, and he would like to pursue a career specializing in media.
