Sha Kevia Greer Tabbed Student of the Month for October

Senior Sha Kevia Greer is a member of the CCHS Glee Club, the Gospel Choir, the African American Club, and the Kindness Club.  She is a student tour guide, a student ambassador, and a Summer Success program tutor.

Outside of Central Catholic, Sha Kevia has participated in Upward Bound, a program through the University of Toledo that provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performances, and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.  She volunteers at Explorers Academy as an assistant, helping teachers by making copies, printing, helping grade papers, teaching classes, and tutoring the kids if they are struggling.  She also takes classes at Tahyah’s dance studio and volunteered for the YES Project.

“I chose to attend Central Catholic because my mom is a graduate,” Sha Kevia said.  “I wanted to follow in her footsteps and see what CCHS was all about.  The best thing about being here is our pep rallies and Discovery Days.  At pep rallies, everyone is fired up and pumped up to cheer, support, and encourage our teams.  And at Discovery Days, everyone does the All-School Dance and we show the 8th graders our great Irish Spirit.”

“Sha Kevia is an extremely kind, respectful, welcoming girl,” said Kate Nell, Central Catholic’s College and Career Advisor.  “She has been proactive in the realm of college/scholarship applications and working hard in her classes.  She is always happy to help an adult with something and sets a good example for everyone around her.  She lives out charity and humility on a daily basis.”

After high school, Sha Kevia plans to go to college to be an anesthesiologist or a professional dancer.  She is currently applying to her dream college, Howard University.
