Central Catholic to Induct Six into Music Hall of Fame
On Saturday, May 9 at 4:30 p.m., Central Catholic will induct new members into its Music Hall of Fame at a dinner and induction ceremony at the Valentine Theatre. The event will wrap up by 6:30 p.m. to give inductees and guests the opportunity to attend Central Catholic’s 97th musical production, Hairspray, at 7 p.m.
Inductees are invited to attend the ceremony at no charge. Guests are $65 per person. Tickets include a plated dinner, and beer and wine will be available to purchase. Please register for the Music Hall of Fame HERE. Tickets to the spring musical must be purchased separately.

Terry Baker - Class of 1972
Terry was in the freshman boys’ chorus and the Glee Club, and he had roles in My Fair Lady, Man of La Mancha, and Carousel. He is a retired sales manager, and he currently works as a musician performing at Toledo venues. He and his three children - Nick Baker ’99, John Baker ’02, and Christine (Baker) Zychowicz ’06, performed in a total of 14 Central Catholic musicals.
Debra Barrow - Former CCHS Music Teacher and Director
Debra taught Glee Club, Mixed Chorus, and Beginning Piano at Central Catholic for 24 years while producing the Sounds of Christmas show and the spring musical. Through her teaching, she stressed the importance of music in her students’ lives as a source of expression, entertainment, and inspiration and is very proud of the number of her students who have continued the study of music beyond high school as active participants and patrons of the arts.
Justin Blackshear - Class of 2006
As a student at Central Catholic, Justin had principal roles in Peter Pan, The Boyfriend, and Fiddler on the Roof. He was a featured dancer in Glee Club productions and a member of the Gospel Choir. He also took part in the fall plays.
Sara (Kautz) Joseph - Class of 2003
Sara was first chair violinist and concertmaster in the CCHS orchestra for four years. She played in the pit orchestra for the spring musicals and continued to do so for many years after graduation. Sara received the National Arion Award for outstanding high school musicianship. She was first chair violinist and concertmaster for UToledo’s orchestra and graduated with a bachelor’s degree Cum Laude in music education. She was the head music teacher for grades K through 8 for several years at a local charter school.
Anthony Pattin - Class of 2003
Anthony was the principal cellist in the CCHS orchestra for three years, as well as a member of the after-school chamber ensemble. He co-founded Musical Memories with Sara (Kautz) Joseph at the age of 15, performing at weddings and other events. He received the National Arion Award for outstanding high school musicianship. Anthony earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, both from the University of Toledo. He is now the owner and pharmacist in charge of the Junction Family Pharmacy in Toledo.
April Wenck-Sroufe - Class of 1998
As a student at Central Catholic, April had principal roles in Fiddler on the Roof, Wizard of Oz, and Guys and Dolls. She earned a degree in broadcasting and electronic media, an MBA in healthcare, and a theatre business certificate from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She went on to perform in summer stock theatre, take the stage at the International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, and eventually build a career as a news anchor and reporter. She currently works in medical sales, and she also created and runs the drama program at Saint Charles Catholic School.
