Get to Know CCHS Staffulty Member - Bree Savidge
- What is your role at Central Catholic, and what are your job duties?
As an intervention specialist, I support students through intervention plans, collaborate with teachers to help meet academic and behavioral needs, and work to ensure that every student feels equipped and supported in their learning journey.
- What is your educational background?
I earned my bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University. I hold a professional teaching license, as well as licensure in intervention and special education. My focus has been on effective reading instruction and building successful individualized interventions to help learners grow with confidence.
- What did you do before joining the CCHS staffulty?
Over the years, I’ve served schools throughout our area, teaching a wide range of students from preschool through adult education, including public schools, college, and career centers. After spending time as a stay-at-home mom, I returned to the classroom and now have over 15 years of experience supporting diverse learners, with a more recent focus on inclusion and resource-based settings.
- What made you want to work at Central Catholic?
I was drawn to Central Catholic because of its deep sense of mission, tradition, and community, but even more so because of the way it integrates faith with education. I have a deep love for Jesus and believe that faith and salvation should be central to how we live, learn, and grow. I knew this was where I was called to be. I already feel so blessed to be part of this wonderful community!
- What do you hope your impact will be on our students?
My hope is to be someone students can count on - for support, encouragement, and for believing in them, even on their hardest days. I want them to feel seen, valued, and capable of achieving more than they ever imagined. Most importantly, I want to help them lean on their faith and trust in Jesus as they navigate life.
- What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
Outside of school, I’m a busy single mom to three amazing daughters who keep me on my toes. We’re an active family and love all things volleyball, both indoor and beach. We enjoy cheering each other on, spending time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine by the pool, and worshiping together whenever we can.
- Is there anything else you’d like to include?
I’m truly grateful to be here and already feel blessed by the people I’ve met so far. I’m really looking forward to building strong relationships with our students, families, and fellow staffulty.
My favorite Bible verse: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
- Proverbs 3:5–6
