Girls’ Basketball Tops Madison Comprehensive, 31–21, to Capture District Title
The top-seeded Central Catholic girls’ basketball team claimed the OHSAA Division III District Championship on Saturday, defeating No. 4 seed Madison Comprehensive, 31–21, at Buckeye Central High School. With the neutral-site victory, the Fighting Irish improve to 16–8 on the season.
CCHS turned up the defensive pressure in the second half, outscoring the Rams 21–12 to secure the program’s first district title since 2021–22.
Senior guard Serinity Bolden and sophomore forward Pamela Flowers sparked the second-half surge, combining for 14 of Central Catholic’s 21 points after halftime. Bolden led the Scarlet & Gray with a game-high 14 points, while Flowers added seven — all coming in the fourth quarter. Senior guard Marissa Justen contributed six points.
Madison Comprehensive was paced by Maddie Berry, who finished with nine points.
Central Catholic advances to the Division III regional semifinal on Thursday, March 5, against Unioto (Chillicothe) at 6 p.m. on the campus of Ohio Dominican University.
