Wrestling Places Third at Dick Hoover Invitational

The Central Catholic wrestling team earned a third-place finish at the Dick Hoover Invitational on Saturday at Springfield High School.

Individually, the Fighting Irish had four wrestlers place in the Top 3 at the one-day event.

Leading the way was junior Brendan Zapadka, who captured the championship at 113 pounds. Zapadka went a perfect 5–0 on the day to secure his second tournament title of the season, adding to his first-place finish at the Derr Memorial Tournament on December 6.

Junior Alex Guerra (138 pounds) finished as the runner-up, while junior Andrei Irimia (175 pounds) and junior Tim Crowley III (215 pounds) each earned third-place finishes in their respective weight classes.

Central Catholic returns to the mat for the Division II Sectional Championships on Saturday, February 28 at 9 a.m. at Clyde High School.
